    Dm800HDSE fail to switch on

Hi Master, seniors and guru. Just wondering if any of you encountered this before.

While watching, my box suddenly reboots itself and enters in a bootloop sequence. So I use the switch at the back to switch it of and turn it on again after a few minutes. It still go into bootloop sequenc. So I switched it off again and this time, it cannot be switched on further.

Any advice is really appreciated. I'm not a handy person though..

If the box is able to power up and in boot loop, maybe u can try to do a reflash.

The box suddenly came to life but able to stay put for a few minutes. Then it reboots a couple of times.. SO i decided to flash the image again. Entered the bootloader stage with the ip address, then while connecting on my browser, the box reboots itself.

I think to reflash the image now will be risky as the box will suddenly reboot. Someone point out to me that this is an adapter problem. How to be sure? I tried using my 500c adapter ( i dont know if it is suitable in the first place) but to no avail...

Any idea.. or the box is toast..

Hi Denny, thanks for the feedback. Im not referring to the PSU adapter. What im referring to is the unit ( i dont know the actual term for it) that is soldered onto the motherboard. Ill try and post picture of it soon.

I think the part in the white circle is faulty. I am not sure if it can be replaced...

The part in the white circle is the card craddle, in n3 u dont used it unless u hv a n3 card to read. U can juz take away the whole craddle, the box still worked.

jatrophseed is correct I cannot see how this part is causing your problem it is more likely to be software problem if its not the power transformer (P.S.U) I had the same problem when I first started this hobby with my DM800HD I had the incorrect boot loader installed with the wrong image and it started re-booting as yours is.
if I remember correctly I just re-flashed the boot loader then installed the image and boot loader I wanted and got out of the loop.

Hi Woodward395, at the moment, the box is not able to power up. There is however some noise coming out from the Card Cradle. I dont have the tools yet to desolder it at the moment.

Somehow i still believe it is a hardware issue. and I may be wrong too...

does your lcd screen show anything at all. do you defiantly have power coming from your psu you can use a power supply with the same voltage and amps to test. I do suspect the PSU as it heats up the power drops of and you will get a re-boot as there is not enough power for the box and the time gets shorter over the re-boots as the transformer gets hotter until it fails completely. what sort of noise is coming from the cradle is it a low buzz , Take the top off your box connect the power do not turn on and disconnect all leads apart from power turn all lights of in a dark room look to see if you can see if it arcs across anywhere when you turn power on.
if so may have short, I really suspect your psu you can still get power via the psu but may not be enough to power the box have you no meter to test.
there are no moving parts in the cradle so I suspect a short if anything.

just another thought look at the three power capacitors just behind the power socket are the tops bulging or split as this causes power problems.
