Ok....I'm a bit lost.
I have a dreambox 500C.
In the past when it needed updating, I followed Thommo's excellent guide which can be found here. I've always been able to update it without a problem, using his great guide.
A few months ago, my dreambox stopped getting most of the channels, and everyone here seemed to be in the same boat. I understood that this was because NTL in Dublin were changing to NG3 and there was no way to update the dreambox for it. All hope seemed lost at the time.
Today someone told me that the dreambox can be updated to work, and looking back here, lots of you guys seem to be working fine with it. So I've attempted to update the system.
I used Thommo's guide again, and have able to connect to the dreambox. I used the rom files that I found here (To be honest, I can't remember where I found them now...but it was in one of the guides here. It was inside a Word document, and had a link to a rapid share site). I transferred the files successfully but nothing has been fixed.
I'm not too cluded up on the difference between an Image and a Cam, but I think the relevant info is that I'm using Dream Worldz 2.0 and Evocamd 2.12.
So where do I go from here?
There are so many guides, it's very hard to know which one I need? Do I just need to update the Rom's again (nagrarmXX.bin files) and I'm using the wrong ones (if so a link to the correct ones would be helpful) or is my problem more fundamential than that?
Do I need to update DreamWorldz 2.0 or Evocamd 2.12? If so, then a pointer to which sticky I need to follow would be very helpful.
