Need some advice DM800HD se. Flashed without backup.

Hi Guys,

My friend has given me a Dreambox DM800HD se. Basically what I want to know is can it be made to work again? He flashed it without making a backup of the original firmware and then managed to "brick" it. Got it reflashed using openpli4. Is it worth keeping on at it or is it no good without the backup?

Or if anyone can point me in the direction of something then that would be great.

My experience is mostly with the DM800 but there's lots of images for the 800 se, you'll need to know if it's an original or clone, what sim is in the box, a null modem cable and dream up but it should be recoverable also remember to flash with the correct bootloader aswell.

there is a post on here somewhere it shows you how to tell if you have a clone or original if I can find it I will put the link on the post later, if you have managed to flash openpli 4 it has not been bricked if it boots up to the image all you need to do is enter the settings for cable and your up and running , you will need to do is watch the screen as it re-boots it will tell you the boot loader and the sim but may have to re-boot several times as it flashes up quite quickly once you have this information we can recommend an image and bootloader to flash if you want to change your image.
