    help needed. . .caribbean

hi guys, i just join up, im from barbados and will soon be gettin a dreambox. . .tired to read soem stuff on the site, but i have to download them and it wont let, i guess my post counts are a bit low.

anyway, im like 5 days old into dremboxes. . .been tryin to understand what all these FTPing, rom, images etc are for. . .also what is this roll over card?

the guys here program the dreambox but they are keeping what they know to them self and not sharing.

can someone give me a crash course in DM from when i first bring it home to when i can run through the channels?

also, if i know someone with a dreambox that has been programmed both card and box can i just simply copy that to my box?

    thanks for any help

There is a tutorial in the red stickies in this section on the 500.

Also if you know someone in your area that has a working dm500 then yes you can just simply copy the file from his box over.

    Image etc.

try to find a backup image for your area and install it in yours. If not look in the sticky area, there's a new tutorial that expalins everything very good.
      Good luck

Get your copied image and drop in into the /tmp directory and you can flash that image to your box via your remote control.
