I an almost total noob. Got a DM800 HD Se (clone), all connected. It has Enigma 2 and Open ATV 4.2 preinstalled. Using Ethernet cable to router, yet the network test always say that Name Server is unconfirmed (whether or now I use DHCP). I don't know if its a problem, but the box appears to be internet-connected anyway.

Now.. I entered the local Network ID. Channel scan gets over 500 channels. The EPG is populated with a lot of info. Yet I cannot get the channels to actually show anything.

[edit] I tried enabling the cam "mgcamd1.38" and "cccamd 2.3.0". Neither have any effect. I didn't realise that I can't mention lions here.

[edit] The biggest problem right now is that the box is using 98% of root space, that is using 58 out of only 60mb. I managed to delete some broken plugins via FTP, then I was able to uninstall them properly via on-screen menus. Sill the space is extremely tight.

Question: is there any way possible to free up more space or perhaps expand the root space using a USB stick?

Hi mate easiest way to free up space is to move your plugins to your usb stick via plugin mover version 3.
just google (enigma2 plugin mover) make sure you have version3 as that is configured to load to usb and not hdd.
probably best to copy the plugin to your stick then install it via software manager, reboot the stb and you are ready to go!

Thanks 003. I have ordered a USB stick. Slowly progressing through issues with the box. Apart from the above, I have these questions to solve:

1. Channel list appears messed up when pressing the TV button. Some channels are missing a name. Provider is only showing as "unknown", despite trying matching one in Menu->Setup->EPG . I installed CoolTVGuide plugin from the list of downloadable ones in the box. (tried CrossEPG befpre that). Neither of these seems to change the look of the channel list. Most channels seems to not show a number in front of them! What should I do?
2. When watching TV, press Info button - the popup does not show the channel number! Also it does not look like the nice blue info popup that I saw earlier.
3. Put in a SATA HDD inside. Installed Device Manager plugin. Cannot get the plugin or anything to recognise the HDD.

Ideas? Thanks!

Don't know if you have managed a successful scan yet mate but you need one to progress.
I have uploaded two plugins that will help you to sort your new scan into bouquets for you.

Thanks 03. I had a lot of success after dozens of various attempts. I succeeded briefly by using the channel list from this topic (thanks to the other members): http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...o-date-433532/
After copying the channel list, I did a full scan for channels, setting old ones to be cleared. There was a trick, I had to select the right provider a few levels down in menus for the scanning.
After that I got rid of any bouquet plugins, and installed AutoBouquetMaker. Next thing, I got into AutoBouquetsMaker, configured for my area and provider and forced it to do full refresh. After that, I had to do about 3 restarts of the box, and finally it sorted channels really well, plus displayed the channel numbers and icons in front of them.


[EDIT] Here is a big problem. Scan works well, and channels are all working perfectly UNTIL Autobouquetsmaker arranges them nicely. After using Autobouquetsmaker scan, most channels do not display video.
Is there something that I need to know?

[EDIT'] 003, I tried the plugins from your post. There were some errors when using Autobouquets C2:

Line 285: /tmp/netid_filter.txt: No such file or directory.
Line 290: /tmp/netid_unsorted.txt: No such file or directory.
write Bouquets..
Line 296: /tmp/netid_sorted.txt: No such file or directory.
write Services..
cat: can't open '/tmp/nit_transponders.txt': No such file or directory.
cat: can't open '/tmp/lamedb_services.txt': No such file or directory.
Updating Bouqyets and Services

The result is that many channels have <N/A> instead of a name and have nothing in them for EPG. Only Autobouquetsmaker was able to get them all arranged and sorted perfectly - but why did it prevent them from displaying video?

Did you install both plugins as the how too's giving all the files permissions 755.
Also you need to do the scan 1st and you should pull in just short of 500 channels if your using the correct cables.xml file and netID, then you need to be on a working channel
for autobouqetsC2 to sort successfully.

I gave up on dvbsnoop and Autobouquets E2. I believe that I have finally succeeded with Autobouquetsmaker after all. This is what I had to do, hopefully it will be of help to other people.

1. Install Autobouquetsmaker
2. Configure Autobouquetsmaker and run its scan via Menu -> Setup -> Services Searching -> Autobouquetsmaker.
3. Perform tuning automatic scan again via Menu -> Setup -> Services Searching -> Automatic Scan. BUT this was really important for me: I chose NOT to clear before scan. It seems with this option, the channels get re-tuned yet remain nicely sorted by Autobouquetsmaker.

Now I attached a USB stick, 16Gb into the USB slot. Formatted using the device manager using EXT4. Used Flash Expander plugin. Nothing had changed. Its NOT recognised by Plugin Mover because folder "/media/usb" is not found.
The available memory is still as before, only 4MB remaining.
Also.. If I try telnet to the box, the "fdisk" command is not recognised.
What should I do? What is the right way to initialise/format the drive and to create the /media/usb folder ?

Update problems with OpenATV are almost every time caused by a lack of free flash memory.
It's easy to fix with the following commands, which moves the complete Plugin directory (usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins) to your usb stick.


init 3
mv /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins /media/usb
ln -s /media/usb/Plugins /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins
init 4

After this, all your new installed PLugins are automatically installed on your usb stick.
Some exceptions will remain: for instance the OpenOpera plugin does use a lot of flash memory but also uses the /usr/local directory. The same problem resides for all kind of skins.

If Enigma2 is in a bootloop, often the laguage setting isn't set in the /etc/enigma2/settings file, you can verify if the line config.osd.language=en_US is present.

Now.. trying to record anything gives an error "Write error. Disk full". I tried to change recording settings to make sure it write to /media/hdd/movies, however, it still comes up with the same error no matter what. Did anyone have this issue?

Check yr usb whether it is sda1, sdb1 etc.. and insert these line in yr fstab file and restart.
/dev/sda1 /media/usb auto defaults 0 0

For recording, just create a folder called "movie".

Flash with Openpli you will find it better and it will auto mount usb.
