have fitted a hard drive and all is working well only trouble i have when i switch box of hard drive still spins, anyone any ideas wht its doing this.

to be honest mines does this too, ive tried every known thing to get it to stop ,with mine if i switch box off and go to say watch my media centre after about 5 mins it switches off thats when i know the hdd has stopped on my 600, ive been onto every forum known to man and no one has an answer for me

timer option

mine was set to 10mins changed to 1min

na i tried that with mine as well ,that was one of the first things i changed when i insatlled it ah well as long as one of us got it sorted

most hard drives these days you can download auto spindown options when there not in use from there support sites

must admit ive never even seen a D box so dont know what kind of drive is in there im sure you will sort it farther ted have faith

your right just sat here and it started to spin again, doing my head in now

have u installed any epg plugins or maybe picions onto /hdd ? as everytime u change channel itl need to access /hdd u see could be that causing it to startup
log into your dreambox webif and play with hard drive settings (under config tab) may be able to stop it from there
