playing dreambox through vlc on the pc

I have been using kryptview for a while now and im looking to upgrade but torn between going the sat root or staying with cable.i see that with the satalite dreambox you can stream your dreambox to a pc using vlc is this possible with the cable dreamboxs

all dreamboxes are clones presume you know that,cable also has hd,plenty of enigma2 should be able to run them.should be a post or more with names of cable and combo boxes.

I've a dreambox dm 800 (clone) with a cable tuner fitted and I can stream to my laptop with vlc player, only in sd though as it seems too glitchy in hd, I can also stream it to my ipad and iphone using an app called blackbox

You can also stream with sat boxes too, as cactikid says depends on what you want, point your dish at another sat and you'll get loads of other hd channels, if not then cable is the answer for the meantime.
