DM500 Help please

Hi Guys,
Due to the issues with the Kryptview boxes at the moment I've decided to dig out my DM500 cable box. Thing is I've never used it and have no idea how to programme/upload firmware onto it to make it work. I know my way round a KV box like the back of my hand but the DM box has me stumped! I've read some of the posts on here but it seems confusing to me. Does anyone have any 'Basic' instructions that could point me in the right direction?
