Stupid buying a Dreambox 500C copy?

Hi, Would it be stupid buying a "fake" 500C? I heard about the gemini timebomb, but i guess it will work with correct MAC?

There are lots of other images you can put on a clone. There is a Gemini image in the downloads section with the timebomb taken out.

"Fake" 500C boxes are ok, if your concerned about the timebomb you stay clear of Gemini images. In my opinion there are as good if not better images around than Gemini which work well with clone 500 boxes. DK and PLi are good and work better for some at streaming.

I agree, all the recent clone boxes I have bought have been great.
The first clones to hit the market (probably about 3 years ago) had poor quality tuners so picked up less channels compared to original German boxes.
I've had lots of clones from China (I tend to stay with the same supplier each time if I can) in the last 2 years & the only problem I had was with 2 I got from a different supplier (havn't used him again) was poor quality power supplies which blew within a few days (replaced for about ?5 from fleebay) but the actual boxes have been fine.
they all seem to come with Philips tuners in them now which are excellent & pickup up all available channels.

Be carefull with anyone selling a Genuine DM500c as DM have not made these boxes for several years to my knowledge.

Never had a problem with 500c.

Runnning the DK image on it atm the min with no issues

I for one will never use gemini on any boxes every again for putting this "virus" in their software. Which is rediculious to try and destroys people hardware.

I know this, but its the point of the matter...an open software group who desins software to get you free illegal channels, then trying to break people hardware, because they using clones...come on

Well if youre using it for c/s then there arent too many other images there are there? I really dont know-Im asking the question

PLi images are good for CS.

nabilosat images are good too, from what I gather from here I think a lot of people with sat boxes use either the PLi or nabilosat images so try these.
personally I have the DK image on my 500c and while playing with a 500s the PLi jade 3 image. I played with the nabilosat darkstar image too but decided to stick with the PLi image...for now!
