I bought a dreambox clone from them, along with an extra remote. A mate also bought a dreambox from them. Neither of us were charged custom fees. However this is about 6 months ago, so perhaps something has changed since.

nope u shouldnt be hit with customs maybe if u ordered 10 maybe but they send it as a 'gift' am sure cause some asian countrys do that so the customs dont charge u for electrical items.

I bought from DVBSeller recently and they send the box via EMS... EMS declared the item with the description of "Satellite receiver box" and with a value of US$20...

No custom fee problem but the item is detained due to the description... Please inform DVBSeller to amend the description into something else... Not sure wether it will happen in your country but it happened in Sing*pore... there is added hassle of retrieving the parcel.

I have just received a box from them, it was held up in customs for a day or so but then released. Took about 10 days in all, no extra charges, box spot on.

From experiance if you go for the cheapest shipping (EMS) then you should avoid the custome charges.

If you decide to go with the slightly quicker delivery (DHL) you will definately get a nice letter from DHL a few weeks later asking to reimburse them for the charges.

You might find my post some time back answering this here: http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...customs-12284/

To cleaify some posts in this thread. I also buy regularly from them. I can confirm a box of 20pcs STILL get through customs without customs charges. A friend ordered 100pcs and STILL didnt get charges customs.

To my knowlsege they must write sat reciver or cable reciver on the units, because IF customs open the pakage and if not as described, it will be destroyed.

YeeDazz - Regards customs holding the item because of the name, that is because your in singapore, which is VERY strict customs. Some aisian countries you can not import sat recivers full stop. In fact, China itself can not import sat recievers. Which is why if you are returning a faulty recevier to dvbseller, they tell you to remove the motherbaord and return that only labled parts.

When importing from dvbseller do NOT select DHL!!!!
70% of deliveried will be hit by customs. Even though dvbseller price the units on paperwork $20 as well as write non commercial value, dhl will mark package for taxes, they may be small small taxes due to $20 price tag, but dhl have a fixed minimal fee they will charge. WARNING, they might not chargwe you customs taxs when they deliver...but you WILL get the bill few weeks after in the post.

So, when ordering, ALWAYS SELECT EMS SHIPPING! As they price the unit $20 and wirte non commercial, your will recieve your package 98% of the time without being charged taxs. In UK here Royalmail Parcelforce is the EMS courier..so they will deliver it to your door. In the 2% of the times I've been charged taxes using ems, their charges are a LOT less than DHL customs taxs.

When my frined 100pcs arrived I was in his house with him sweeting if customs hit him. But guess what......wasnt charged a cent in taxs...now thats a big profit he made.

Yes, that is quite normal..all imports must go through customs, which takes normally 12 - 48hours, but I have had package in customs for 4 days and no fees.....go figure

                            thanks everyone for their advice.
I will go with it and hopefully I will not get custom charged.

What is the best imagine to flash onto the Dreambox as someone said they are clones and I have heard that some imagines can damage th clones boxes.

What imagines are best for clone boxes which will not damage the box??

                            thanks
