Hi,
I recently got a DM500c, and have installed the DK1.1 image on it. This is all working fine, and is picking up channels ok.
The issue I have is to do with the optical port on the back. From using a dbox2 previously, I was getting stereo through the optical cable, and DD on some movie channels.
Now with the dreambox, I have to use the composite (red/white) outputs to get any sound. I can see the amp is receiving a signal from the dreambox, if no signal the optical light flashes on the amp. Optical light on the amp is lit solid when the dreambox is selected. But there is no sound at all.
I have tried the ac3 option in the menus, but with the same result. Have noticed this setting seems to be lost after a reboot? Thats a minor issue though.
I know the optical input on the amp is definitely working, as I use an AV switcher between the devices and the amp. So can switch easily to another device, such as an xbox, and sound is fine. Can't see why the cable would be faulty, as the amp is seeing a signal and the cable is lit red as you would expect.
Have searched and found some other optical issues, but not the same as myself. One post did mention that the box would put stereo out through the optical, and I'm certain the dbox did.
Any suggestions?
