noob question

right very basic question not yet known by myself how do i back up my image to my pc

this is one thing i have never done i always think i will do it tommorow then forget then i install some crappy addon and the image wont reboot causing me problems and then having to start again

btw its a 7025 but i presume they all will be similar

there is a program i belive it's called dreambox control center this will allow you to backup the image as well other things

i think instead of flash you use the back up option on dream up, not sure whether you say yes or no to a flash erase been a while since i done it myself, im sure somebody will advise properly,

Use dreamup to connect the box then click the backup button.

Name your image and store it to somewhere safe on your computer.

When it comes to flashing again use dreamup and select the backup image and that will restore your box.

Use the latest dreamup for this.

thanks i have dreamup already i didnt even know it backed up images too

do i need to use null modem cable or can i connect through the network because it is sruggling through the network and to use null modem cable means i have to disconnect it all downstairs and connect it to pc upsatirs


one problem i may have is that my image is to big for the flash memory of my dreambox it is currently on a cf card

Hi m8 the DM600/7020/7025 have .nfi images so dreamup wont work
maybe the backup method for the 600 will work
hopefully someone will confirm if it will or not
