i am a complete noobie and needs some one with lots of patience i got a dreambox 500c but need lots of help setting it up the screen comes on the tv and i go to search but there is only 2 number that come up i have done the dream up thing and tried doing dk v1.1 thing but it keeps saying error how do i get the brute force thing up and do i need it please some one help

You need to read the RED stickies to get your box working. Download the cables.xml file copy to var/tuxbox folder on your dreambox.
