    How much for a second hand 500c

    Title sums it up really.

    How much should I pay for a second hand 500c?

    I have spoken to someone who is selling one, I have no idea if it is a clone or not as I have not seen it yet. Any tips when looking at it would be useful as well. I have not seen/used a 500 before but he will show it me working with free to air channels.

      There is a guy selling new ones on fleabay at ?75 + p&p (He claims that they are genuine, but I very much doubt it), so I guess that any price lower than that for a second hand one.
      Although it really depends on how much value you place having a working image for FTA (and maybe more?) channels.....

        The dvbseller seems to be doing them for ?39 so I personally wouldn't pay anything over ?50. I wouldn't surprised be if the guy on ebay brought from one of these places an is flogging at ?25 profit.

          I just added a 500c to my stable of dreamboxes.

          ?35 for a genuine clone with fake horagram, F connector for cable in and 2 remotes, one big black one and a little genuineish looking silver one.

          It has a DW image on - 1.65 I think it said. Anyway its time to play.

          <--Neil added 296 Minutes and 7 Seconds later...-->

          After a full 5 minutes setting up the IP address and copying required files to the 500c and everything is working fine.

          The funny thing was the bloke I gave ?35 for 500c told me he sells on iffy subbed boxes for ?80

              Not at all, that sounds like a good price for a new one.

                m8 the Dm500 are all clones now. I paid ?62 for mine from China at Christmas, the dm500 has dropped in price now because the clone Dm600 is available for ?130.

                              Clones are superbs mate, however they are produced by different manufacturers and some appear to be of lesser quality than others, best to ask around before puchasing.

                              The only problem facing clone owners is that a group who produce images for the box have decided to include code in their images that brick the boxes, they can be repaired though but it's a pain in the arse.

                              Just avoid images created by 'The Gemini Project' and you'll be fine.
