    Help Blackbox HDC608 plus bricked.

I wonder if there is any quick fix to unbrick a Blackbox HDC-600C

It can boot up, but stuck on the boot logo, and no longer load the main program.

I hope there is some sort of remote control keypress or front panel button press during bootup to load firmware from USB.
I got the correct firmware, and need to reload this firmware.

jus refreah using comport RS 232 with pin 2,3 as TX RX. the 3rd wire go to grnd.
        or
flash chip 25L6406 with a programmer.

            I got a chip programmer.

            upto ver M004 ok 21219
Ver M009 hv dont know how.... 21219 not ok

            Recovery:
            use RS232 like dreambox
Main CPU is ALI 3601S. its
            Pin 2 is TX
            Pin 3 is RX
            Grnd connect to cover.

'Erom updater' to flash correct firmware to recover from ASH or wrong code 21009x21219.
BL is another chip (unmark by the chinese to prevent u from copy) nxt to HC003
If u put wrong BL, box will totally brick, then you need a few $Ks programmer to recover liao.
So dont change BL if not sure.

Go to download, search for open box, skybox upgrade tool, u will find the Erom upgraded.
This tool can recover Ash and the screen above problem.
Must use rs232, CPU serial connection.

Hi, I am having the same issue, the blackbox totally brick, not loading. understand to use the rs232, but the HDC608 does not seems to have rs232 port. does it mean I must open the box?

              Thank you

Yes, open box, take out chip xxx6406.
Read/google Lancos and reprogram the chip. Works for 'ASH" and the above 'wrong code'.

Alternate, series 1Kohm resistor to pin 2,3 of CPU ALI3601s + Grnd wire. Then use null modem rs232 to reprogram. Erom updater Ver2.0.

However, those with chip programmer, it is much easy.
                Attached file for recovery.

Hi, i can't seem to find the chip/CPU that you're referring to. Can you point out to me from the picture below?

Buy a new box is easier.
Bcos after u repair the brick, u still hv to buy a !service!.

Find an undergrad in NTU, polytechnic, NUS or .... use their Lab to program.
reprogram the chip with file i attached above.
                            easy and a 3min job.

That what I did in younger days.. LOL...
