    ftp issue, help guys

    hi

I'm having an issue copying file to the dreambox, its doesn't matter which folder I try and copy to I keep getting the problem that it looks like its doing nothing (hanging) and then it doesn't copy the file. I'm using Cuteftp but I have also tried DOS ftp and IE. The box is a 500c clone and I'm using the DW v2 image. I keep getting this in the cuteftp window

200 PORT command successful. Consider using PASV.
150 Go ahead make my day^W^W^Wsend me the data.
    226 File receive OK.
    the file never gets copied.

    Any ideas ?

    Thanks

I prefer FTP commander. Also free. Ensure when you login or add server you use root/dreambox as the username/password combo.

If it still doesnt work you will have to reflash as image might be locked.

I use the same program for the dbox2 and its fine, should disable any emu's that might be locking the file, its the auto update file I'm trying to copy.

          Thanks

just tried with ftp commander and it does the same thing, starts copying the file and then never finishes. The transfer rate is like 0.14kb/s and thats crap, do you think I should try the image from here ? does it included the patch for the auto update ?

Sounds like a faulty cable but you say you have a dbox2 so you can confirm it's working with that.

Could be that the image has went into read-only mode and you'd need to reflash it.

Any case, a reflash usually solves most problems that can't be explained. In your case, you'll need to use a null modem cable and dreamup.

I'll try a reflash then, can anyone confirm that the DW v2.1 image includes the auto update fix ?
