DM500 not technical wiz

Hi there.
I bought dreambox 500c a few days ago and have set up as explained in the guide. I have got a virign cable , when autoscanning cant get any channels or any results from the transponder scans.

Im in leicester. I have done all thats required eg downloading dvk, dreamup etc but does not work and even when trying to set up woth dreamup it didnt recognise the dbox.

am i doing something wrong can anyone help.

So, you have been unable to connect dreamup to put a working image on the box ?

If you have a working image on the 500c, when scanning are you selecting the right frequency, does the box give you options such as bruteforce ? if so choose this that will guarantee the right freqency, offer a little more info m8 and you'll be sure to get the correct response.

could be com port problem ,not connecting to dream up,also box must be switched off ,not in standby,no power at all ,then when prompted plug in to power,should be ok then

well it comes up with this dream gaza.com image and i get only two transponder freq 6900 and 6875 but it cannot find antenna/cable network??
I have got sky bb, does this make any difference??
is there a way that anyone would know the freq for leic for virgin signal??
No it doesnt give any options as well..
I have only got the virgin tv connection not bb.

You need to split your v media signal to connect to the dm500c, $ky broadband will not work, it looks to me that you haven't got a working image on there either, never heard of dream gaza.com, to add an image you will need dreamup and a null modem cable.

tried setting it up this afternoon with a null modem cable and dreamup but it never recognised the dbox when it asked me to connect and switch on the dbox. any other options?? can i use my laptop to set up an image. If i may ask whats this image in lame words

Check your com port is correct for dreamup. You will need a working image to view channels, there are plenty around, just check the downloads section, but first things first you need to connect to the box with dreamup, so as I said check your com port.

seems like same issue as myself so newbie to newbie.. grab the kaos image from this site and download flashwizard pro and set up your network so u can ping (see) the dreambox.. flash the box (very easy with that software) reboot and then do a bruteforce scan.. (green button to save ) and i think your done.. well i hope so cause thats as far as i have got
