Surround sound from dreambox

Just wanted to know if i can get surround sound from my dreambox (clone) via optical cable?

Does anyone know if this is possible?

Also i have a mates dreambox here and all that happends when plugged in is it is stuck on the green light doesn't ouptput anything via scart and doesn't respond to remote either! Any ideas as to what might be the problem peeps?

Well i have my dreambox connected to a decoder via optical, which has dolby pro logic and dts neo:6 to make stereo sound into surround, which is outputted to my 5.1.

About your friends dreambox, the only thng i thnk u can do is flash it.

- had same problem as ur m8's box,and this was my cure;
You'll need to flash it with an 'erase' image [flash it twice]; this would empty the box completely. And then flash it with ur preferred image. SIMPLE.

If you are watching a DVD movie through a mounted drive then there should be no worries getting 5.2 sound - I do this regularly. You'll probably need one of the enigma based images, though, but they nearly all seem to be nowadays.

yip it's possible, just connect a optical cable and tick the AC3 output in AV settings
