Help DM500c

Hi guys, Im new to this forum.

I am thinking of buying a DM500C

Can someone help me, what items do i require for a full working setup.

So i know what i need to buy, i have been reading about a smartcard, but im not sure if i have to buy one or if you do not need one, if you do where do i get them from?

you will need a network cable to attach it to your PC/laptop in order to load it it etc.. Some of these clones have shite NICs in them though so its always recommended you get a null modem cable which allows you to connect to your box via its serial port, your PC/Laptop will also need a serial port but that can be acheived with a USB to Serial converter..

you do not need a smart card reader for it..

I was told that with the smartcard you will not get all channels?!

no, you do not need a smart card.. you just ftp the roms on to your box and scan for the channels thats it...

Is there anywhere on the net that has a PDF manual? would you know of?

you can download a pdf from the manufacturers of the original/genuine box but it does not give you all you need..

You can insert a smartcard if you wish to do so, but its not needed if you live in the UK Also, remember that all dreambox images are released without any keys except for the modded PLI, modded DW, mr dude images etc..

I live in Barbados in the caribbean and was given a dreambox but was told that I would need a card in order for the box to work. Could you please advise where I can get one. Thanks
