    Bad 500C ethernet connection

I have a clone 500C that I am connecting to my network using an ethernet cable but am having connection issues.

The box will only connect to one of the three different routers I have from three different manufacturers (draytek, d-link, belkin). The belkin works just fine but the other two dont sense the connection (the light on the front of the router showing a connected device doesnt come on) and as a result I cannot access it over the network.

A couple of times I have had to wiggle the plugged in cable in the back of the DM box to get it to work on the belkin so dont know whether I may have a bad port??

I have tried both DW Neutrino and PLi Enigma with no luck.

    Any ideas?

have you checked the router setting/policy?
maybe the other 2 routers have some policy on Mac address I mean only selected device can access, check restrictions

          No restrictions unfortunately.

I suspect there could be something dodgy going on at a hardware level as I dont even get a light come on on the router to show a device has been plugged in.

I am convinced it briefly connected with the d-link router as I am sure I saw a light on for a brief while but could be imagining things and havent managed it again

at this point yes I also think it can be something at hardware level but just to be sure, change cable, try other network devices and see if they connect to these routers, reset to factory default, update the firmware

Hey AshenHugar, thank you for your suggestions they are very much appreciated.

Sadly I have tried these things already (the day job has got me familiar with IT equipment fault finding). I have tried using the cable that works with the belkin router with the two faulty routers but no luck, and the d-link was new out of the box with the latest firmware.

I know the connector in the box definitly works, as I can plug it into the belkin router nop problem. I can also then the belkin router into either of the other two routers (making the belkin router act like a bridge) with all the connections working fine.

it seems really weird to me that it will work on one but not two others

If flash FXP is saying you are connected then I would say you have a software issue. I dont know the software thouggh so cannot be much help there I am afraid.
