          Hi there vambo,
I had the same problem but on XP managed to see the shared folder by
FTPing to the box then look in the /hdd folder there should be a folder named
'movie' if there isn't just right click and 'Make new folder' and name it movie
Then go back to your mount settings and configure it to this 'movie' folder.

Hope tis helps only just did this myself last night 17-06-08

          Good luck
          ORY

that folder is there with movies inside of it, i can see it in fxp but i still get fail when i mount. i have (hopefully)attached pics of settings.

i have removed my system password my pc log in is vambo

i have created a folder in: c:\recordings inside of this folder is the movies folder all of which are shared (right click sharing)
            my network address is VAMBO-PC
            mount.JPG

            ips.JPG

            recordingfolder.JPG

            fxp.JPG

getting ready to throw it out the window now! anybody want spares?

l have only ever got this when the ip is wrong

there are multiple ways. one way is to go to start>run> type cmd then enter and then type ipconfig this will show you your ip address among other things. you can also go start>all programs>accessories>communications>netw... connections, then right click on your connection and go to status and look under the support tab

I thought Vista was an absolute bastard with CIFS shares like this and didn't allow passwordless logins anymore though? Can you mount it from another system with:

                Code:
                \\192.168.1.3\recordings
I'd make sure you can a) mount it from another system and b) ensure you have a valid username/password combination working before you attempt to get things mounting on your Dreambox.

I remember something about IPv4 and IPv6 with Vista.

Try setting the properties of your network card in the PC to IPv4.

                    try this buddy

                    1. Click Start, type: "CMD" (without quotation) in the Start Search bar
                    2. Right click Command Prompt in the search list and click Run as
                    Administrator
                    3. Type the following command and press Enter:

netsh interface tcp set global rss=disabled
netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled and reboot

now telnet into your dreambox and enter

                    mount -t cifs -o user=vambo,password=******//192.168.1.3/recordings /hdd

change **** for your pass on pc
hopefully that should do it if not try as devilfish suggested and also disable IPv6

                    cheers

                    osborne82

edit forgot to say telnet is disabled by defualt with vista so either enable it or use putty for telnet
