DM500 connection prob

hi i have a db500c have flashed with dv1.[1].1 i have tried to use flash fxp to put keys etc on box .the computer is to modem and the box is to modem by a standard lead not a cross over.yet the fxp program cannot connect to box have also tried filezilla same thing any advise out there to what doing wrong i have ip add of db put in program follwed various links off this site but no fun.

If DHCP is ticked in Communication Setup in Dreambox, the router will have assigned the dreambox an ip.
Go into expert setting in router and find that assigned ip and go from there.
I found DCC (dreambox control center) the easiest to fp to the box as i'm not very computer literate. also a function in dcc for to search for ip of dreambox.
