Hi,, your issue of it want to stop recording is normal when trying to change channel, even if its on same transponder, to be able to watch another channel on the same transponder whilst recording something you need to be bit more logical..
i will use bbc1 and bbc2 as an example here,,
Say you want to watch bbc1 but record bbc2,,,, be on channel 1,,,, wait until the programme on channel2 is less than a minute from starting that you want to record, go into timers menu and set a timer to pvr record bbc2,, if you timed it right it will just start recording channen2 but will remain on bbc1 for you,,,,

as for the box restarting and going back to tv mode, look in expert setup and see which you have this set to "autoplay in file mode",, enable that and if your watching something and turn off or restart should continue where you left of in file mode. also, when you get to end of first recording, do you press stop and then select the next recording or do you just try jump onto next recording pressing ok?
      boom!

Or as Caveman suggests change to the PLi image. It doesn't have that problem. I had the same with the CLI image, it's know fault. PLi is more stable. I can watch one channel and record another (on the same transponder) without having to worry about timings. I can also delete files while still recording something else, with not problems. I could not do that with the CLi image.
