Hi all

Well my dreambox arrived today from DVBMonkey despite all the horror stories. I was a bit concerned about having to plug a null modem cable and re-flash the box but when I booted the thing up it had a digital kaos screenie and seemed ready to rock.

I did a transponder scan and all that and got all the terrestrial channels. Then I managed to source a nagrarom7.bin file and stuck it in scee and keys folders in var, rebooted waited expectantly and got bugger all. Re-scanned the channels, held down info restarted Evocamd 2.12 and still nothing.

I have since spent about two hours trawling this wonderful forum and am hoping someone out there will give us an idea of where I am going wrong.

You've got the ROM but have you got the keys?

If you have transferred all the magic files across,
then try holding the info button for a few seconds when on sky
sports one
then restart the softcam, should then start unscrambling

I reckon that could be the issue as I only have one file on the folder!!!!!

so the question is: where do I find the keys?

all I need now is for my null modem cable to arrive in the post. Looks like I fried my image when I tried to update it from a telnet session. I got a segmentation error and then a black screen

okay, have borrowed a null modem cable and sorted my dreambox yay! I have uploaded the 3 nagrarom7 files to scee and transferred across all the files in keys from dreambox_stuff restarted evocamd 2.12 on s*y sports 1 and waited patiently.

Nada.

I have chmod all of keys and scee folder to 755 (including the files within the folder) and still nothing. I have even tried putting the rom files in the keys folder.

Have I got to generate a key to put in the Keylist.txt or something.

I am so tired Please help.

sounds like you have the wrong roms and keys, assuming you live somewhere orther than the greater dublin area you need the nov fix do a search and follow the instructions.
that should sort you out
