500c locking up after flashing backup

My 500c was working fine untill i dis th efollowing :

1. connected to d/box via flashwizard , backed up , saved , it saves as a My_flsah_Image_baclup.fw2

I then connected my friends d/box , and tried to restore image on his d/box using again flashwized by dropping file in box (install on flash) section . seems to load , but locked up box , no reboot seen . Managed to get box talking again via dreamup but evertime i try and load backup , it locks up .??

2. I reconnected back my own dream box . dead ???
I had, nt even done a restore on this box , just a backup ?? any ideas ? Manage dagain to get box talking via dreamup , but now getting same problem of lock up evertime i try and restore backup file .

3 , cant use dreamup to restore image as the file is not an image file ....? do i rename the file as *.img ?

any ideas please ? ,,,,,, tried loading digital kaos image , scanning ect , dound channels but will not clear ... and info would be much appreciated thanks

I would never use FWP, as you've found out...it hangs up all the time.

If you can, backup using Dreamup and you will get a .img file. You can't simply rename the .fw2 file to .img, that's like renaming a .jpg file to .mpg, just doesn't work.

If you have no working backup, you'll need to flash a normal image via dreamup and then add the keys and rom files again.
