the way i put recordings to dvd is to demux the .ts file.
this splits the audio from the video i use project x its free here
then i use ifoedit to author the audio and video to dvd format. this is also free.
the result is a perfect dvd with the same quality as the recording you started with.
if you use any other sort of encoding software you lose quality and it takes ages to encode the files too.
off the top of my head it takes less than 5 mins to demux an hours worth of recording and 5 mins to author the demuxed files to dvd format.
