hi there, just wandering if any one knows if the cable tuner from a dm600 will work in a dm800.?

would a normal dm cable tunner card give the hd channels

i would say yes it should as the video proccesor will do all the decoding stuff.....dont forget you can stream hd via the web interface on a 500 and 600 but the box cant decode it as it cant process the raw data from the tuner....

the tuner is just a tuner, the board does the rest

Hm-sat-shop.de are selling a cable tuner for the dreambox, which seems to work on the 600, 800, 8000 and 7025. I find the site very reliable, so I'd guess that you'll have no problem

Oh... just realised you've a clone. This may make a difference.....

Did a bit of research on the web. On some clones, the sat tuner is "fixed" e.g. Dreambox 800 HD PVR Satellite Box, DM 800 HD PVR, dreamobx 800S

hi there , no its a pluggable type on mine......this is gonna be a last resort as i sold this and the buyer says the tuner is faulty.....(sat) box will not boot with tuner in but boots without it.....so if i cant get it sorted i will try my cable tuner in there out of my dm600.......then buy another cable tuner for my 600...
