DM800 setting up a dreambox dm800hd on virgin media

hi,

please can someone help me get this box up and running its driving me mad!!!

the box i have comes with bootloader 72, Gemini 4.4 and the tuner is ALPS brand

what do i need to do to scan it and get all the lovely channels???

can anyone help me, i speny about 48hrs reading up and still confused, doesnt take alot i know

any help with be greatfully recieved

can you scan channels yet?

or are certain channels just not clearing.

there are not as many dm800 guides but it is fairly similar to the 500

I would also recommend PLI image. do you know how to update the image?

no its fails to find any channels.

perhaps i will try another image, there's a sticky for that, i was hoping i could just do a scan and it would find the channels itself..

i struggled to get it to scan correctly.

firstly try get PLI Image installed. i dont know if the other images scan the same way.

i did find it tough to scan with the dm800. also look for a cables.xml file and ftp it to your box, which should help.

once you can scan channels give us a update and i can help out a bit more.

I thought ALPS was a satellite tuner??

A cable tuner should show as Phillips or NXP.

sorry yes it is a philips type tuner

i now have managed to scan and found 324 channels, but only the FTA channels are viewable???

does anyone know what i need to do to correct this
