    mmds aerial

    has anyone bought a mmds aerial from sat and cable? trying to find out which one will work in ireland.
    is it a bird?......is it a plane?.....NO ITS MY CHEAP CLONE FROM CHINA GOING OUT THE ~~~~ING WINDOW.

    They will all work.
    The bigger the grid the more gain you will have.
    A 21db grid is standard for most installations.
    Alternatively you could get the All in One Yagi aerial which is quite good but can suffer from interference in wet weather .

        just bear in mind the size increases with gain. Even the smallest db one should be fine as long as its setup OK.

          depends where u live

          24 db is the standard gain,using a 32db downconvertor,but these are separated into a and b groups,so to avoid reflections and interance from other transmitters,they can also either be mounted horizontally or verticly.im sure sat and cable sell very good ariels but if you asked around locally you'd probly be better off seeeing if you could get one that has been left behind from chorus or ntl and would definitly be more suited to your area.i've aload out my back garden the cable companys dont want them back even when a customer demands it be taken down.
