    dreambox 500c

I just bought a dreambox of ebay it works a treat apart from the fact that the range on the remote is not very good.. If i'm standing close by the receiver the remote works fine, but if i sit down in my hot seat which is only a meter or two away it does not work so good...

has anybody else got the same problem..? have i bought a clone..?

    how can i tell../?

    your help is appreciated.

could just be the angle you are sitting at they can be a bit fickle you have to be pointing directly at the ir sensor. At least thats my experiance, no difference between clones and genuine.

may sound a bit dramatic but you could try a reflash,,, the dm500 remotes i use go the length of my living room no probs and usually pretty sharp. ( all originals though )
            boom!

that was my first reaction, new batteries, or stronger ones, maybe you using old re-chargeable ones.

the odds r u have a clone but thats not a problem there fine . if u go into expert setup u can play abit with the settings .. this isnt a common problem u have here
