    Dm500c on MMDS (modifications)??

Using a Dm500C on Mds. Is it easily doable

If you got your hand on a BDC (down converter) and an Mds aerial how much further would I need to shift the frequencies

I would have access to some of the equipment needed
DVBC goes from 100-800Mhz (at least the scan says it does)
DVBT has both UHF adn VHF bands but where how far does a BDC on the MMDS aerials shift them?

I assume the other parameters are the same?

Chorus MMDS is DVB-T ,NTL MMDS is DVB-C.
You need a 500c for NTL and a 500T for Chorus.
A 500c will not decode a DVB-T signal ,they are different formats.

yep Fano is right m8....you would need to change the tuner...if its possible on a dm500 ?
but i did read somewhere that someone had soldered in a sat tuner to a cable box

any Rf guys out there know what the difference is. I would have taught both have an 8Mhz channel with the same Qam settings.

I would have taught the difference is the down converter used by NTL it may step down less or more shifting the 2.4Ghz into the Uhf or Vhf range.

If I am right then a modified BDC will work if it shift by enough into the range of the receiver.

Again the big ask is if the modulation methods and spacings are the same.

there right ya can change the tuner in them i had a 500c in galway
then moved to the country i was told i could change the tuner for terrestrial signal
but i didnt bother it sounded to complicated its a lot easier
to just buy a digivox t heres one
          Digivox T Terrestrial Receiver*::*Terrestrial Receivers*::*Skywonder Ltd
i ended up reflashing the 500c after the fix for nagra 2 and gave it to the brother
the digivox t is simple setup

forgot to say i can give ya a no. for a guy the sells the antenna, downconverter, power supply and chimney brackets
and pole and hes very cheap ya wont get cheaper
