Box Frustration!

Hi Guys

I have a dreambox that works fine. The other day i got another box for the next room.

I can only get the FTA channels on it!. I use the same set up and magic files ect.

The strange thing is the box finds the channel and tells me what is meant to be showing, but no picture or sound!

Anyone got any ideas? Dodgy box?

Can you not take a backup image from your working box and ftp this into the temp folder on the other box and reflash it?

Maybe worth making sure that the fta box has a working cam (evo) slected as default.

Have you checked all the cable connections to make sure none are loose.

Simple way is to back up your image from working box with dreamup, and then flash to other unit selecting 'NO' to flash erase when the option come up!
This will def work for you.
The only other problem from here on will be signal loss to second unit.

Also, when saving with dreamup, name the backup file as a ' .img ' file as you wil find it easier when you go to flash second unit!

Take an image off working box then flash it over to new box.

I keep my backup image safe so then just flash wizard over a network to sort out boxes.

I agree, please read guides, they are posted for a reason and this is 1 of those times they should be read.

i will clone my working box to the non working one

See if that fixes the issue.

If that doesn't work is their anything else i can do? Am i right in thinking that i cannot send the box back because i have flashed it myself?

100% it will be user error, not a fault with the box.
