FLASHING PROBLEM

dont expect to get the answer to this but here goes
i can flash and image to the box but it will not pick up any channels
i flash with an image with services it says channel not available
i flash with dreamup network enabled it says theres somthing alive in the box and its not dreambox

All images need a certain amount of customisation mate.

Are the services for your provider and your area mate?

How do you have it connected mate?

there is nothing wrong with the image its the box

How do you know it's the box mate?

Did you do a proper complete flash when you updated the firmware?

Sounds like a ~~~~ed tuner, but your last problem doesn't add up to a tuner issue.

Have you tried a Telnet session?

no i have not tried telnet
but i have tried many images all the same no service searching option
and dreamup tells me there is somthing alive in the box that it does not reconise
looks like gremblins to me

try doing a full flash erase if you have not done so already and install either a dw or dk image with applicable updates and that should sort you out if youve tried this already sorry.

You need to switch off your dreambox and than connect up the null modem cable to your pc com ports and than run dreamup, it will say connected and now switch on your dreambox and that is when you switch on your box. Select flash erase and first and than select flash. Have been copying your uk cables.xml file to your image after flashing the box otherwise you won't be able to scan?

I seem to remember someone had this problem before as regards the no scanning option,the fix at the time suggested changing the tuner driver from old to new or vice versa and hey presto the option appeared.
Dont know if its relevant to your situation but maybe worth a try.
