Want to buy a 800c

Thinking about getting a 800c but wanted to know if I can use it as a media player as well? Was looking at stuff like the popcorn hour to play large 12gb MKV files but would this do the trick as well?
Dont see the point in buying both if the 800c can play this as well?

as far as i am aware the 800c does not stream mkv.

do your self a favour and buy a popcorn, i have one and it is awesome!

thats the thing I a have read mixed reports. was kind of hoping someone with one would say it could be done and whether its any good?
