    Problem Flashing

I got my Dreambox 600 PVR today and have now just tried to flash using ethernet as i dont have a null cable.

I have connected box to my Linksys wireless network and it has assigned the dreambox 192.168.1.103 and i have verified this in expert setup. If i type this into run on my pc i can browse all the files on the dream box.

I open DreamUp and hit conenct, it then says connecting turn DreamBox on i do this but nothing seems to happen ?, it just waits and nothing else, are there any other programs you can use to do this.

I have attached two pictures that are in Tiff files hope they will upload if not i will save as JPEG images.

If anyone can help i would really appreciate it, many thanks.

You need a null modem cable to flash with dreamup.
Checkout the RED stickies massive amount of info and effort been put into them.

yes it will work with ethernet but still need a null modem connected for dreamup.

if you dont have null modem handy you can try this if you know the box ip and know its networked ok,

          3. open telnet window, type the following, pressing <return> at the end of each line.

          mount /boot -o remount,rw
          rm /boot/*
          reboot

          4. You should now get a message saying that the Dreambox is rebooting.

          5. Wait a few seconds and then run Explorer (Firefox or whatever) and enter the ip address of the Dreambox in the address bar.

          6. On the screen that appears, choose the 'Upgrade firmware' option, find the .nfi file and click the 'Flash' button.

          7. Once the progress bar reaches 100%, reboot the box
Beware that if it goes wrong you will NEED a null modem to recover...
          boom!

type telnet and your ip hit enter

copy and paste all of satmans

                  rm /boot/*

yup, if telnet already open command is open 192.168.*.*
if you were running from start>run you could type telnet 192.168.*.*

but, you got it flashed now anyways, well done
