    DM500 USB to Null modem

    Hi i have purchased on of these HERE

    I am running Vista ultimate on my lappy so and help would be much appreciated as i can seem to get anything going! I have never used dreamup before only ever flashed using flashwizardpro

    i have managed to set up the port on a mates XP laptop! Now when i use dreamup and select the port (COM2) and click connect then i put the power lead in but nothing happens i have tried this on about 5 occasions now! Still no luck

    Any help much appreciated!

    Ron m8, have a wee look at smirnoff's thread below, not sure if its the same for Vista but worth a shot.

    setting to change your com settings Start -&gt; Control Panel -&gt; System -&gt; Hardware -&gt; Device Manager -&gt; Ports (COM &amp; LPT) -&gt; Prolific USB to Serial Bridge&#8230; at this point, take note of the COM number. Use that number when assigning the COM port in your Device Manager and double click your USB to

      was having the same problem until I got an adapter from here

      It installed it no problem.
      On the "serial port " at the top of Dreamup page there's a drop down arrow-it installed my usb to null cable and it reads the Dreambox on COM 7
      ps I didn't go anywhere near the Dreambox menu!

        done all that pal manage to set the com port etc no luck connecting maybe need a new cable!

            the way i got round it was to get an old pc that some one did not want with a serial port on it.i just wheel it out when i need to use dream up
