My dream box Wouldnt turn on, Please HELP!!!!

My Dreambox500c just switched itself off this afternoon so my wife told me, Now all it does is when the power cable is plugged in, the green and red light flashes and the input goes on and off on the TV. it does this continuesly until I take out the power cable.
Please what do you think is the problem?

I have tried to flash this again as suggested but when i connect dream up and dreamup request me to plug in the power, nothing happens as the box is not powered up so I cannot flash, The power light flashes like it will turn on but it does not and at that m oment when I connect the power plug, dreamup wants to connect but disconnect as the power goes out again. I also notice that the green light on the power adapter dims when i plug in the cable to the box. Could it be something to do with not enough power been supplied to the box? Can I use the power adapter for the DM800HD . The 500c is 2A while the 800HD is 3A. do you reckon I can try it.

if its also a 12V output, yes, you can use it! once voltage is the same, the rating is prob higher cause 800 prob would have higher current draw!

Thanks guys its confirmed, the power is gone, I popped my dm800 power cable and bang its started working again fine without the need to flash. Thanks for all your help.

Get yourself a good quality psu from maplins or e-bay, most psu's that come with dreams are of shxt quality, 12V and at least 2A rating!
