Had an issue with my internal HDD in my DM600C spinning up and down hourly even when in standby mode... I use the current Pli Iolite image. I have now found out that it is due to the EPG updating etc as the the save location is on the HDD. This bug is also on the Helenite image.
"A work-around is: go to the setup menu, dreambox settings, system settings, EPG. Select "Custom location" for Enigma EPG location and type an invalid directory at Enigma EPG directory ("/a" for example). You will get the text "This directory does not exist". As far as I know, EPG will never write the EPG to file now. This is only possible for Enigma EPG, not for SQLite."
My image was using the SQLite EPG, i changed it to the Enigma EPG and set a crappy custom save location as advised and it worked...
Hope this helps anybody who comes across this...
This issue may get fixed in the new PLi images, these come about six monthly and the new ones are due at the end of July/beginning of August..
