DM800 clone setup help a veteran please

I have a dm800C clone i bought from china, it is supposed to be bootloader 74, the image that was on it had a picture of the palm island on it but for some reason i thought that wasnt the latest, i believe it may actually have been. I tried to install the mostly recommended one BH12 but i got the 'no ca found' error, i got out of that by flashing bootloader 69.nfi to the box but i have lost the image on there, whatever image i try to flash to it via the browser just gives me the error again, im not sure what i am doing wrong, MUST i use dreamup to flash it successfully or is it possible via thebrowser, the browser seems to do it in 5 mins whereas the serial method takes more like 50 but is that becasue it does it properly ?...i have read around the forum and others but it just seems to confuse more and conflict info so i started my own thread, i want to be able to try different images but not really sure where to start from the ground up...i think i need to get a bootloader on there so i can just flash images willy nilly. Hi loady i am sure someone willl help u on this dm 800 just to clear regarding it takes 50 minutes to flash via dreamup if u tick network in dreamup u will flash in under 5 minutes

Tanks for that...a valuable time saving tip, at least i can bang away at different images untill someone shines the light in right tunnel. At this time i have put on bootloader72 over whatever image i think is on there and it is booting but taking an awfully long time, currently 15 mins and its just over half way

the image you did have on it sounds like what i have. gemini 4.4 did you make a backup before you began flashing? this image works great on cable

No, like an idiot i just went gung ho..sometimes the best way, not this time though i fear...i have let the box boot now, it finally booted after 25 mins and i seem to have blackhole on there now..however..i have just gone through setting up the tv screen etc and have selected a language and been presented with 'systems message hardware could not be verified please contact dream multimedia support'

I do have another box exactly the same which i have not touched yet. Was the image i had already on it the better one to use ?

Ok, it seemed to get past that message and onto network config, its just hung though...i am now trying the gem4.4 downloaded from a thread on here that has been pre tweaked

OK....i reflashed bonesy image dump from his thread and then i get the no ca found error, what i do next is flash bootloader 72.nfi straight after then it works, why do i have to do this, i thought the image had this already embedded into it ? do i need to put bootloader #75 on ? is it in nfi format ?

ok, now you just need to flash using dreamup the bootloader 72 nfi file. and job done.

Yah....it seems to be working now..so basically what you and i said, image first followed by bootloader 72 nfi...what about other boot loaders ? 74, 75 what effect do they have and why not use them ?...also my hdd is not being picked up...do i need to format in windows first ?

This image seemed fine but this evening every 20 seconds the picture is going and a message comes up saying check tuner configuration...any thing i should know ?

Never seen that error before sorry no idea why?
Have a play with tuner settings.

I have tried every single cam on there now...this is really starting to annoy me as it just started out of the blue...the screen goes blank and throws up that tuner message and i have to go up a channell to get picture back and then it does it again a minute later....these boxes i think are quite sh*t...i hope development for them picks up soon

hello guys i've had similar issues and finally thought i had mine working with secondstage-dm800-69.nfi the only problem is i go to tuner configuration and its empty

it says Tner A : Empty

Nothing

Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated!

Try flashing #72 to it

I once had a box whic wouldnt reflash no matter whatv I did. left it for 2 days then decided to give it another bash and hey presto... illogical.
