    Setting up my new MD800C

    Hi,

A total newbie learning the new DM800C, I’ve had a starview in the past here goes………
I got myself a DM800C which came yesterday couldn’t wait to finish work and get home;-)
Anyhow my first impression was WOW – nice looking box so small not much bigger than a VHS tape!
I simply connected/plugged in the box to the TV – while booting up it said Enigma loading and a picture appeared of a man made island – It stayed like that for 5 mins or so.
I tried to do a scan by going into manual scanning but brought up no channels – after reading various posts which were outlined by a member sorry forgot the name but you now who you are;-) I managed to changed the freq and symbol rate to my area – which started scanning instantly and brought back 439 found or so hoooooray ;-)
I am now able to get all FTA channels, all the VM channels are shown in the listings but they stay as a blank/black screen – can someone kindly advise what steps I need to do in order to get the box fully up and working.
I’ve not connected it to the pc as yet, I know I eventually need to do this if someone could point me in the right direction that would be much appreciated in helping me find my way around thanks for reading – I hope this makes some sort of sense;-)

    Thanks

    -Dizzydiz

you need to ftp to the box to move the magic files over - there's sticky's at the top of the forum that give you step by step instructions - follow these and shout back if stuck

I've read the flashfxp guide I think im ready to give it a go when I get home - does seem straight fwd provinding the DM800C causes no issues.

Bonesy - can you kindly point me in the right direction for the magic aka rom files as I'd like to try it when I get home this afternoon - I know it can be very time consuming when you don't know what your looking for.

            Thanks

Ah its an 800 box you have, why not try my image which already has all the files in it

If still same problem remember you may need to flash the correct bootloader to it after you flash via dreamup
