Newbies guide - channel scanning on new box.

Hi All

Just recieved dm500c (assuming clone) as was only ?70.
Having problems scanning for channels.

Is there a guide or faq anyone has that reveals how to scan for channels.

The Box Boots up, asks what diseq to use (chose none) then when trying to scan, it wants to scan astra.

Ive dropped cables.xml all over the directories, but cant seem to make it scan. Been on it 4 days now !

Firstly, are you sure that it is cable version of the box and not a sateilite version?

Which image has been flashed on the box?

sounds to me its either the wrong box (sat) or the wrong image i dont think astra gets used on cable

if its asking for diseq and then astra it looking for sat,diseq is used for difrent lnbs or a diqeq motor,dose it say 500c on the front or 500s?

Sorry but it seems you have a sat box you can tell by the number on the front
or the tuner at the back one screw on and one plug in for cable
two screw on for sat

Just got new eurovox 5100 pvr and not sure what symbol rate to use? In glasgow.

Hello all,

Please help.
I have just got a Eurovox 5100 PVR and I need Symbol rate for Stirling area.
I have tried 6952,6875 & 6887. I only get an empty table when finished scanning.

Any help will be much appreciated. Dennis
