DM500 No encrypted channels

Hello

I have got a Dreambox DM500c, and I can get the FTA channels, but no encrypted channels. I have done the following and would appreciate any help you can give me.

1 - flashed dreambox with dk_v1.img using null serial modem cable.
2- rebooted dreambox and disconnected null serial modem cable
3 - used flashfxp and connected successfully with the dreambox
4- copied all keys files from pc to var/keys on dreambox
5 - coped all scee files from pc to var/scee on dreambo
6 - gone to sky sports one and held 'info' for three seconds and started evocam.

I.E every step in the 'Noobs guide', all of which worked except for the final outcome, as all the encrypted channels are still encrypted...
If i go on the FTA channels, I can watch them! If i go on the encrypted sky sports etc it's just a black screen, and in the bottom left corner of the info bar, the 'key' symbol is coloured in blue, which I presume means that it is in fact encypted?

Please help, at the moment my dreambox is no more than an expensive terrestrial hub!

you need to leave the box on a premium channle until it kicks in, for 2min to (some people say 15 min) and wait for it to kick in as stated, i know sly s 1 has problems in some areas, so put it on sly s 2 to make sure, once again just wait untill it kicks in and enjoy....

I got the keys from the rapidshare 'dreambox stuff' link from the Noobs Guide I downloaded from here, at RapidShare: 1-CLICK Web hosting - Easy Filehosting

If those keys are OK, how do I view them in explorer like you say?

Thanks very much, but I can't seem to download them without becoming a premium member...

Also, the filename is 'dreambox_stuff', which is the same file name as I have downloaded. How can I tell if they are up to date? Or are up to date keys in the download section somewhere? If so where!!?

hi, did you schmod your files to 755. hope this helps.

Forgive my stupidity, but I don't know what schmod means, and I don't know where or what 755 is....

However, I will try Nige's link and let you know - everything is crossed in anticipation!

to chmod files to 755

Copy files to dreambox with flashfxp (in download section )

Transfer files to var/keys and var/scce (caveman_niges)

Open var/keys folder on dreambox and select all files

Right click on files goto attributes (chmod) tick boxes for 755

Open var/scce folder and do same

Then restart cam or reboot box and put onto any premium channel ( i norm just flick through channels for couple minutes )

hope this help

you'll have to chmod a lot of files on dreamboxes m8 its used for a lot of plugins unless you download them from the image download server

I am having the same problem! Did you have to change the permissions to make it work? I am based in Cardiff and trying to set one of these boxes up for a friend. I am using the image dk_v1.1.img and the keys as below but I have yet to change any permissions.

I think you have to change to 755 for it to work, follow instructions above and then restart cam by holding 'info' button down for a few seconds. go to sly spoxrts 1, then change to sly spoxrts 2 and wait few mins for it to update!
