DM500 cable dreambox

hope somone can help, i am trying to flash dk1.1 onto my dreambox using laptop running vista with usb nullmodem cable , problem is when i try to connect with dreamup it wont communicate with dreambox or even give me the option to flash ?? tried all com ports & when i bought the adapter the drivers came with it loaded them they went to com 23 but still no luck ,i would really appreciate some advice been trying for a week......help

going to try what u said jok just hope this works got a erm...few boxes to flash and i don;t very much like letting people down . will let ya know how i get on...cheers
