Put it on my clone dm500s and found it ran a lot better than the Pli Iolite. I found the Iolite was a bit sluggish on my DM500 but the Jade runs really quickly and watching it on a pc was quite smooth. I also found I could map my network through the remote go drive first go rather than having to do it through the web interface. Overall fairly pleased with the relase.

I'm having problems with getting my DM600 to update. I have downloaded the 2.17b evocamd via the blue button and copied over the k*eys to usr/keys & usr/scce. Restarted the cam but nothing has updated.

Not sure what had gone wrong as I have managed to get every other image to update apart from this one

put it back to evocam 2.14 and try that or try evocamd 2.13c ( ??? )

Thanks for the tip guys. I managed to get it working by copying the keys from an image that I already had working. with evocamd 2.17b

This image seems to be the best yet for me. Fully working UK now and next info bar and finally the ability to pause live tv with one button rather than the previous method of a 3 button combo

Greetings everyone.

I need some advice about how to upgrade using telnet the Jade backup image please, I'm a new user.

I have a DM500S which came in an original looking hologram box it has MAC 00 09 34 ...

The presently installed software is Dread multimedia 1.0.9 03.08.2006

I have it connected to my router and it is now setup receiving freesat stations, I've installed a few plugins etc and the web interface seems fine.

I have created a backup image using telnet and shell commands and moved it onto my PC (8126464 bytes)

I have also copied the jade backup image onto the DM500 as /tmp/jade.img

How do I write the image to flash? The notes for the jade image say no full erase is needed, is any other kind of erase neeed?

Would the command "cp /tmp/jade.img /dev/mtd/3 && reboot" be all thats needed?

One more thing, when I use DCC to connect it tells me I have no boot manager installed. Should I install one and how?

DevilFish, A version of Jade was released in October 08, as with all jade versions they do not include evocam.
I know you put an older version of Jade with evocam included here some time ago ... is there any chance you could explain :

- where you got the evocam addon file for jade and
- how you installed it on the pli Jade image ?

I've been looking to do both for some time now with no success..

You need to connect your dreambox to the internet and than download the evocam by

Pressing BLUE Button > Software Management > download latest menu > EXIT > Downloads > Cams > Older Cams > Evocam 2.14 > EXIT

Press BLUE Button > Softcam setup > Default cam > Evocam 2.14
