DM600 losing connection between flash xp and dream box

Hello there people im hoping i can get some help with a problem i have with flash xp and a dreambox. I set up a dreambox for a friend using flash xp and had no problems. The PC i used to do this has now blownup so i have installed flash xp onto another pc and tried to connect to the dreambox using the same settings that I used the first time round . The problem that i'm having is that although flash xp connects, the connection only lasts for 40 secs and i'm not getting any info about the dreambox in any of the info panes in flash xp. I have used both a crossover cable direct from the laptop (wireless)to the dreambox and also 2 ethernet cables running through a router and got the same problem. Cheers for any help given. Sorry if this is a stupid post but im a newbie who's run out of ideas.

Try using individaul programs such as coreftp for transferring files, dreamup for flashing the box.

Use coreftp or smartftp to transfer the keys to var/keys. The dreambox might be set to DHCP and the ip address may have changed after the flash. Gon into your router and check what devices are attached to your router to see what ip address has been allocated to your dreambox.

I've tried using smrtftp to connect to the dreambox with the same results. I now get the message "An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine". I've taken the ip from the settings screen on the box and dhcp is unchecked. Any help would be much appricieated. Cheers

I use the Pli image and on mine there is an option in system settings > services to start the Firewall. You have not got that set any chance by accident?

have you set the tcp/ip to obtain the following ip address and entered the ip as one one up from box's ip? example box ip(192.168.1.24) tcp ip (192.168.1.25) also if you have wireless running on your laptop sometimes it can cause problems so disable it. I once had a problem like yours but it was a faulty earthing point on my ethernet input on box if all else fails try opening it up and have a look at your earthing points on the ethernet.

only time i had connection problems its wasdue to my firewall, try turning it off and give it a go.

Have reflashed using Pli image and everything seems to be A ok. Thanks for the info

Right, image seems fine but when i come to do a channel search am getting the messge " All known transponders have tried but no lock was possible. verify antenna/cable setup or try another sat/network."I've rebooted the box and I've tried the other networks but with same result.
