    DM500 - what next

Hi all, some words of advice please!!

Before my DM500 (clone as I am now lead to believe!!) went all ftv only, it's flashed image was Digitalworldz (1.6 as I recall). Is the best plan for me to now connect up to my pc and flash with latest digitalworldz image or should I follow an alternative route??

    Many thanks
    D-star.

Why not try the brand new Digital Kaos image, you will also get all the help you need with it as it was developed here.

Well it's been a long time coming but it's eventually here - Digital Kaos v1 image for all versions of DM500, cable satellite and terrestrial. Please read this post in full before asking any questions. All questions with answers in this post will be referred here. A few details about the image! Yellow - Kaos Panel

You definitely need to connect it up to your PC, for sure.

There is a new 'nagrarom7.bin' file that will fix it and auto update the keys so you don't neccessarily need to reflash. All you need to do is ftp the new file to the /var/keys folder and change channel, give it a minute and it should come on.

If you have a look in the Digital Kaos V1 Image thread you will see a rapidshare link, download the files from there and you will get the new file.

        Fantastic!!

Thanks guys, this is fantastic - It may have taken me a while but having spent a few hours going back over the various tutorials and threads but the box is now back up and running!!

Great site and a valuable service - so much more to the box and programming than I ever imagined.

        Thanks again

That's why the linux boxes (e.g. dbox/dreambox ect) have so much support... there's a lot more to play around with (to keep people interested) than the other closed source boxes like starview/eurovox.

as you say there is a lot more homework involved but for most of us, its worth it!!!
