In total misery

Would someone please put me out of my misery [shooting seems good at moment] I have faithfully followed the tutorials to set up my 500c but no go.
1] Flashed image using dream-up
2] Downloaded K**s to file and opened
3] Used flashftp and followed instructions for file transfers
4] Did scan
5] Put box onto well known sports channel and started emu
result------nothing, so where the heck did I go wrong?
Please someone, carry out the mercy killing [no fees] or can someone please assist before I carry out the killing myself

Have you loaded Evocamd 2.13 and than restarted the cam whilst on the well known channel?

the kaos image is a fta img, if you want any extras you,ll have to do the work yourself by adding, keys ect..... with flash fxp.

I added keys and scce and evocamd 2.13-----is there something I missed or am I just a thicko?

PS----have now spent nearly all today and still no luck------it must be me cocking up, most probably on ftp but I feel sure I followed the guide---conclusion= I'm thick---HELP!!!!

i know this is a stupid question but have you started the evocam by pressing the blue button then start evocam.

try replacing nagraram7 in var/scce

If you have downloaded the files from the rapidshare link in the Digital Kaos image thread then those are the correct files.

On the DK V1 image, you restart the emu by holding down the INFO button for more than 3 secs, this brings up the EMU Manager screen and you can press OK to restart the emu.

Maybe download the files again and do it all from scratch. I'll pop on MSN tonight (if the missus lets me ) when I get in and we'll get this going...I can appreciate the time you've put into this and how frustrating it can be but you'll get there.

Thanx sincerely Devilfish,it'll will be very late tonite as we leave for Malta tomorrow nite and we are out til late tonite getting last things done.
The object was to get this box up today so as to leave our house sitter with something worthwhile to watch.
Will be on net/site early am as I will not admit defeat and to think that I used to be one of the best satellite hackers around and now I'm stuck on a mini cable box project---oh well old age creeping up .

A new box from dvbseller arrived at my friends house today and he bought it here for me to play with----I loaded image and flashftp in under 20minutes [a record for me ] ad scanned---the bloody thing worked first time proving my box to be corrupted so have had to send off for a new one. That's life.
At least I've proved to myself that I can learn and do it.
