need help choosing the right cable newbie

hey i tryed to flash my box lst nite only to find out i shouldn use telnet to flash dm600 after i done it.
now my dm600 has froze not responding.
ok i need to get a null cable but have no input on laptop?
can i just get a null to usb cable? or do i need a adapter as well?
i really need help pls hope some1 can help me and point me to the right cable on ebay pls?

it may work with serial to null converter..... soe report problems...so works fine.

You need one of these if you don't have an RS232 port;

i phoned my local Maplin and they said hey dont have a cable like that. can some1 help me find this cable on the net havent had anyluck with ebay

just type 'null modem cable db9 f/f' into amazon.co.uk and you will get plenty of choice..
