web interface on the dream box

Is it possible to configure all attributes that are possible using the remote by using the web interface?

As far as I can tell, you need to use a remote control.

However if you've lost your remote control, you can use the web interface remote control - under box control \ remote menu.

But web interface remote control is much slower than the real thing......

Sorry, should have explained better.
All the menus that are accessible and all the configuration changes that can be made using the remote, can they be achieved using the web interface?
This may appear a strange requirement, but its very important to me (don?t mind letting you know on a PM).
BTW how does one use PM on this BB?

You can get at all options using the web interface. Blue & Yellow buttons etc. This is done using the Remote option from Box Control menu. Be warned that this is very slow from a remote location. Another option would be to access a PC on the same network as the device you want to configure. i.e. PC on 192.168.1.x and Dreambox on 192.168.1.x, access the PC via logmein, or remote desktop and then you'll have much faster control of the dreambox.

Alternatively you could just telnet straight to the dreambox and configure it that way.

Cool, Telnet is the way then.
Do you know if there is a single file that holds all configurable attributes or is it scattered all over the place.
Basically I would like to be able to view/configure all menus/parameters that are accessable via the remote.

If you go to the web interface, click on CONTROL then REMOTE CONTROL you'll get a picture of the larger style remote.

Yellow button doesn't bring up the Kaos Panel but that's why there's also a menu for it in the Expert Setup Page (Menu > 5 > 5 > 1).

LAME = Exit

It's a wee bit slow to respond, wait for the screen on your PC to complete the function rather than the TV, you'll know what I mean when you try it.

Other than this, generally, you can do most things using the web interface that you can do using the remote.
