Hello there. I have DM500 Clone, worked well for few Years and now it seems to be dead. Receiver work as usual instead of its Network Interface wont comply. When I connect it to Switch, Router or PC via Crossover or direct UTP cable, LED on Receiver or Switch remain off. PC with windooze said: network cable is not plugged. ifconfig output said same thing, eth0 is down due to missing carrier. So I guess an Asix chip can not see if cable is plugged on Receiver. Is there any hack to make this work? Now it work as usual, as simple FTA Receiver without network connection.

Why not get a null modem cable and use that to upload a new image to the box.
Some of these ethernets can bet dodgy.
If the light doesn't show on the dreambox when you plug cable in then its prob faulty.
Seen a few sold like this. So what you need to do is find someone kind enought to send you a full image with all the bits and use a null modem to upload it to the box.sigpic

I use GP2 image, it worked good until some day. I did not try to replace image, i think it's hardware fault...Comment
